Thanks ttimbo, that is definitely a good idea and probably what I'll end up doing. There is no doubt that the problem started one week after I bought the car and no mods were done to the car, everything is documented by the dealer. Any mods I did to the car were almost a year after I purchased it and didn't affect the issue either way. Obviously it's a tough pill to swallow paying someone to fix a problem that should be covered under warranty; but as you said probably the only way it's going to get resolved.
