Yes, I've committed to the X1 25i, too. But for me, the GLC is a much closer run decision, as I'd only bother to get the 220d with the seats package, and I'd actually downsize to 18" wheels with non-RFTs. There's not much price difference between this and the 25i, and I reckon the ride/handling of the GLC is superior to the X1, based on a comparison drive over the same roads. Especially ride, and it's also quieter. The GLC isn't a rocket, but it's "adequate" for the style of vehicle (i.e., no slug with the 9sp 'box). BTW, my M-B dealer said the side-steps could be removed and the standard sills fitted by order at no cost, so I'm not sure what your guy is doing with the $3,000! HUD and panoramic sunroof are "nice to haves" for me; I did like the 360* camera! However, the GLC is barely, if any, more spacious than the X1 --- maybe even smaller in the luggage area. And the killer? June/July delivery at the earliest, and very little enthusiasm to deal on price atm.
