I copied the files (as shown in attachment) over to the formatted 64Gb USB Drive (E.

I inserted the USB into the console USB and pressed start (no brake) to enter accessory mode.

The screen turned on and carried on to normal mode. No action from the USB.

Same process on NTFS formatted 64Gb USB stick
Did you put all the folders and files to the root of the USB drive?

Some people have posted about problems with different brands of flash drive, different capacities of flash drive, and different drive formats (FAT32 vs NTFS). You can try another combination. So far, I had success with 2 different Kingston 32GB USB 3.0 drives formatted with FAT32.

Here is my procedure:

1. Start the car (running so as not to drain the battery)
2. Unplug my existing USB drive that has my MP3 music
3. Go to the Navigation/Map screen
4. Go to Settings to look up the map version and take a photo of the screen as a Before record
5. Plug in the USB drive that has the new maps
6. Click Start update when the screen pops up after if detects the USB drive
7. Take a leisurely drive while the screen displays the percentage complete (I don't move off the same screen)
8. Click OK when the screen pops up that the update is finished and the Navigation system reboots
9. Go to Settings to look up the map version and take a photo of the screen as an After record
10. Unplug the USB drive with the maps and plug in the USB drive with the music

The procedure may be slightly different for your 2016 X1 and Route maps.
