And I did call BMW tech who said it is most likely the valve in a line coming out of the gas tank. But they'd have to diagnose to know for sure, i.e., supply power to the valve to see if it fails to open or not. That diagnosis alone is pushing $150. If the valve is faulting, replacing it with a new one is pushing another $400 to $500 (ballpark estimate).

It could also very well be electrical, which I would think could be much less $ to fix.

Anyway, they don't see this code often with the X1.
I had a similar issue few months back and took it to the dealership and they estimated for close 1000. So got it fixed outside and paid close to 300 I believe. It ended up being a vent value which apparently is a common problem in the model.

Dealership is wanted to replace intake muffler at the same time for some reason and I had no reason why.
