LED headlights on X1s in the UK are adaptive. However they do rely on the halogen foglights as low-speed cornering lights, rather than the dipped (low) beam changing direction.
I wonder if the adaptive function is disabled in the USA to meet local legislation? Discussion on other forums regarding a recent report on poor headlights suggests that they are constrained by regulations.
