Still very different vehicles. As far as I know, the 2 GC hasn't even been confirmed to have a hatchback. Even if it does, the two are still very different. The 2 is not a two box form factor like the X2 is, for example. Speaking of two- box hatchbacks, BMW still has the F40 1 Series hatchback coming in 2019 on UKL as well, replacing today's F20. Think Mercedes A-Class vs. GLA. Similar silhouette, but one's a crossover and one is a sport hatch. There are still things to differentiate them such as seating position, not to mention weight and driving dynamics. People still know the difference and both still have their place on the market. Maybe eventually they do converge, but not yet. |
