Same here, I'm on run-flat winter tyres. Hopefully if I have a puncture, I'll get to a more secure place, or home.

Winter tyres give far greater security in severe winter conditions. Much better for stopping, which many forget is more important than getting moving.

Also remember while you are on winter tyres you are not wearing out the summer tyres, so tyre cost is similar long term. The cost is in rims, partly recovered if you sell on when you change your car, if they don't fit the next one.
