I'd be thrilled if the X1 outfitted like this comes in $5K less than the E91. I just wish it was here already because I'm currently looking at alternatives like the Audi Q5 & Volvo XC60....but neither are BMW's

Fortunately, I don't have an immediate need to replace my E92...

Saying that, there are many others, each one with his own "view" of whats going to be available in the USA. I would be surprised though if some of the more powerful diesels don't eventually make it as the sedan diesels have been quite successful there.

In the UK I would say that the Q5 and XC60 are rather competitors of the X3, in price and size. The X1 competes with the VW Tiguan, Nissan Qashqai, Honda CRV and Toyota RAV.
