Yea 1/2 is safe, i'm guessing you would be using either 10mm or 15mm. Just make sure you get them from a reputable brand so they will be even and not cause any wobbling, and definatly make sure you get longer lugs ! this is very important to the safety. So if you get 10mm spacers for example, make sure you get new lugs that are 10mm longer then your current lugs.
