X2 M35i Winter Tires

Hi, I'm about to buy a Misano Blue X2 M35i with 20" wheels. My only reservation is the tires. I'll occasionally use it for winter ski trips (my Rivian will be my usual ski car) and although the M35i is AWD, it gets mixed/bad reviews for winter driving. I live in CA so day to day do not need anything special.

Those who live in cold climates, what are you doing for the winter? I'm not particularly interested in dropping another 3k+ on a set of wheels and tires and swapping them out seasonally. For one, seems like the large brakes limit wheel options. Would prefer to get good all-season M+S tires and call it a day. I'd carry auto socks instead of chains in the mountains.

Unfortunately, I don't see any replacements in the standard 225/40/r20 size. Would a 235/40/r20 tire, which offers a lot more options, work? Any others people have found that provide decent performance year-round?
