Upper or lower pan gasket? Did they remove the brace support to confirm the leak? You wont be able to see anything without taking the brace off as it blocks everything from the oil pan up.
Either which, upper or lower gasket, it does not require to drop the subframe. But the upper gasket will need the oil pump remove. Lower gasket is as easy as zipping out 20+ bolts.
Bmw charges $400 an hour labor, lol must be nice.
