Haha, that's the spirit! You know, I had 18x7.5" OEM wheels with 225/50 tires (I think you had the same setup). You can even put a 245/40 tire with 19x8" wheels. And you just saw my setup with 255/40 tires on 8.5" wheels.
So, that's why it seems weird to me TireRack recommended a 225/45 tire for a 19x8.5" wheel. I believe the tire stretches too much to cover the entire wheel. So, I would use a
minimum tire of 235 width for that wheel, considering this information:

Let's wait and see what they say. Probably something related to BMW approval or recommendation
