I would say here in Australia, definitely get it tinted. It will also further reduce the UV impact.
I went to get mine tinted (here in Australia) and two tint places told me that, while it was possible, it would actually likely increase the risk if the glass cracking due to heat differential. Don't know the validity of thus, but the fact two of them said it spooked me.

That said, I've concluded it's unnecessary. I guess if you left the blind open on a really hot day, you'd deserve the burnt nether regions; as long as you use the shade, open the roof to quickly expel hot air, and keep the climate control on "auto", I've never found the X1 any more or less hot in Summer than any other car I've had, and much cooler than the black sports coupe I had for a couple of years.
