I had a friend ride with me recently who commented on how much more open the pano sunroof made the vehicle feel. He had ridden in a rental X1 that didn't have a pano and he said it made the car feel smaller compared to mine.
I don't feel that the pano panels are any louder than a vehicle with a traditional sunroof or metal roof.
I have only had mine a few months so I haven't done a summer with it yet, so I can't speak for the heat buildup compared to other vehicles. There is a feature on mine that you can set up parked car ventilation for a set time during the day that's supposed to help cut the heat down. I think it works via ConnectedDrive as well, but I don't have that option here. I would imagine there's some variation in the markets for those features.
So far I've been happy with my pano sunroof. I like how large it is, and I appreciate the fact that BMW made it as big a glass roof as they did. I looked at a couple of other cars that had pano sunroofs that were much smaller in size.
