I took the approach of a Ferric grey metallic wrap to side mirrors and gloss black wrap to side sills and trunk spoiler of our white M Sport xDrive 25i, which is the F48 range-topper here down under (I think you call it the 28i in the 'States).
The colors selected follow the prevailing BMW 'language' (think for instance M135i/M140i or X5 M50d Ferric grey side mirrors) and compliment the M Sport shadowline trim around the windows.
I've also coded and changed the rear indicators and brake lights to LED bulbs. More contemporary.
A simple mod(s) to consider.
