Meh on the porky X4, would do a Macan if I wanted a full blown SUV, but agree with your other points, well said.
From a marketing standpoint, the F48 is better for the average consumer. So are the F series cars. Short term sales are up, and will likely continue as fwd spreads. But passion is way, way down at BMW and long term brand interest is surely leveling or declining.
I've owned BMW's for 15 years but outside of the M2, have no interest in their current lineup. I'm seeing a lot of my enthusiast friends switch brands too. Sales are cool, but Toyota sells tons of cars, non of which are the best in class.
