And what size wheels? I'll probably get shot down but I'd say the difference in COMFORT is negligible in the more base models with EDC, but it will tighten things up in SPORT mode. We have an M Sport and I believe that optioning EDC actually removes the lowered ride height and makes the vehicle softer in NORMAL mode whilst stiffening it up in SPORT.
So in summary if you're going for a basic model and don't want to stiffen the ride with EDC you can probably do without...
