Don't waste your energy getting frustrated. Sounds like there was no permanant damage, I'd be glad for that.
I installed the alarm 'module' myself in my M3, and there were no manuals, etc that I can remember. There was the motion sensor that goes in the headliner pod, a tilt-sensor that was installed in the trunk on the passenger side, and the siren module that goes in the engine compartment close to the micro filter for the AC.
Hope that helps. Clean those scuffs, go for a drive, and relax.
