At 5' 3" my better half could not get on with the sports seats at all, as even with the bolster fully retracted the seats were far too long for her. Strange, as not a problem with most other makes we tried, nor our previous VWs.
Fortunately, at 6' 1" with 33" inside leg, I also find the standard seats good: whilst initially they feel too narrow, I have no aches or pains after 4 hours or more non-stop.

I agree with this. At first I was very concerned about the seats but have had no pain or discomfort after many 2+ hour trips. They still noticeably short but I can honestly say that body has not suffered as a result.
