Now, they need to give it the right stuff under the hood. That's the one piece where I fear disappointment may await. GLA45 is up to 375hp now, and while I know that kind of power is not happening for the X2, we aren't even sure the M35i will be over 300hp. Audi also throws it down in this segment with their I5 (not the new all aluminum one yet, but it will come next generation) in the Q3 RS. Though that one isn't sold in the US, the next one surely will be. BMW needs to commit to the high performance transverse powertrain like these two are. If you are going in, go all in. |
Maybe we will see it with the M2 engine in a full ///M model
