Perhaps so, but no reason to roll your eyes. The results were the results, and these were primarily stock-based cars, with the rules in this series allowing modifications primarily for safety reasons. Obviously, that includes suspension tweaks and brake upgrades, but the basic configuration must remain true to stock.
I'm sure that part of the game (as it is in most of organized racing) is figuring out how to "cheat" without getting caught. I have no clue how diligent the Koni officials are in terms of oversight, inspection, and rules enforcement.
