I was also warned not to use Safelite, etc. ($600) due to sensor calibrations, warranty, etc. I've never had a car with pits like this even @ high miles. It seems BMW uses a softer glass in order to meet European Head Impact Requirements. I also drove a "loaner" X2 today and it had about 1/2 the amount of pits at 2k miles. Seems like it's a consistent and big issue. Anyone else have this? Any suggestions on solutions? Is it possible to get a US made harder glass replacement? Or do I just live with it until my next major window crack/ rock repair?

Looking for suggestions.
My M240 had the same problem! Unexplained tiny chips that kinda looked like dust. I even tried a clay bar on the windshield. That's when I noticed they were chips!
I just traded it in for an X2. I hope I don't have the same issue on this one.
