I have a feeling this will be the case. I'm also a 2018 owner and have already paid the $300. I knew upfront that I was going to pay. So I'm ok if I don't get a refund but it would be a nice gesture.
But logically, the first year that they went to subscription (2019) would be the best place to start. Otherwise, I don't know how far BMW can go back.
