+1, I agree. From a pragmatic standpoint it makes sense for bmw to design a new app from the ground up that fits the coming needs of 2022 cars and beyond. They know in house what those needs are and can design it for the future.

I don't see any reason why that they can't essentially provide the same functionality in the new app as is currently available in connected drive for any model year. Since any sensor or communication module that worked in connected drive are still available for the new app. Will they, that of course is another question. I understand that there are some changes coming as the 3G connectivity goes away.

Yes this is that planned obsolescence feature to encourage one to by a new vehicle…..
