Quote:
Sales of the 2021 Mirai only recently started in the United States and already, Toyota is offering the hydrogen-powered sedan with a $20,000 incentive.

Prices for the 2021 Mirai start at $49,500 in the U.S. and as of March 2, all models are being offered with $20,000 of ‘APR Subvention Cash.’ This is a bonus a buyer receives when financing the vehicle at a promotional rate through Toyota Financial Services, Cars Direct reports.

This isn’t the only thing the new Mirai has going for it. The Japanese car manufacturer has extended its zero-interest financing offer on the car to 72 months, up from 60. This could reduce monthly payments to as little as $694 per month, before taking into account the $20,000 discount and state EV incentives.

In California, the only state where the Mirai is sold, the $20,000 cash incentive and the $4,500 California Clean Vehicle Rebate brings its price down to just $25,995.

Those that are tempted to lease the Mirai will be pleased to know that the previous $1,750 lease cash offer has been updated to $9,450 for the flagship Limited model and $2,250 for the entry-level XLE. As if that wasn’t enough, the Mirai also comes standard with up to $15,000 worth of complimentary hydrogen fuel.

Underpinning the 2021 Mirai is a rear-wheel drive platform with a fuel cell stack that’s both smaller and lighter than the previous-generation model. The car also features three hydrogen storage tanks, a 1.24 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor producing 180 hp and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque.
