Hi. There are one or two insurance companies in the UK that allow a discount if they can track your driving style, usually for inexperienced drivers. I believe it means having a 'black box' installed in the car. I don't know how/where they are installed, or whether those boxes actually record where you are in geographic terms.
Proper tracker systems are installed in a concealed part of the vehicle, probably only known to the tracker provider/installer.
