BMW test caravan sighted heading for cold climate testing

I found this on the Swedish Auto Motor & Sport web site and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

A BMW test caravan was spotted on its way to Northern Sweden. Two AMS (Auto Motor & Sport) readers spotted this caravan and managed to get some pictures.

Here is a rough translation:

Quote:
In the middle of lunch rush test cars turned into the parking lot - two BMWs and a Mini. Two auto motor & sport-readers caught site of the masked test cars.
At a quick glance it seems to be three new models on their way for winter testing in northern Sweden. First up is a more practical five-door version of the Mini due for introductionlaunch shortly. However it will not replace the current Mini Clubman.

The test caravan also included a BMW 2-series Active Tourer. We have already seen unmasked pictures of two series. But this is the seven-seat version, which gets two extra seats at the back and will be slightly longer than the five-seat version.
The third and possibly most interesting model appears to have higher ground clearance. This is speculated to be the completely new generation of the BMW X1 which is still not due for launch in a few years.
So far there we don't know many details about the new X1, but it will probably be based on the same platform as the new Mini models - UKL1 , this means that the base BMW X1 will be front-wheel drive.
