OP, didn't your mom confirm for you that she did give you the right amount? Then why would you suspect she's wrong? Do you think your mom set up a trap so you could lose your money and not fly to Asia for the holidays? I think not likely.
You made one big mistake, you showed your hand to the girlfriend. If you would have just kept silent and left another money trap for her, you'd have a definite answer. Just admit you failed. Move on. Dump this girl, keep her; choice is up to you man, you already paid for it.
