You need a certain version of idrive to update via Bimmercode. Otherwise, I'd recommend Simon at Bavarian Coding. He will come to you and code pretty much anything you want.
For adapter, I'd recommend a cable rather than anything over Bluetooth or WiFi. Much faster and less chance of losing conne yion whilst coding. You will need:
1. ENET cable - OBD to Ethernet
2. Ethernet to iPhone adapter
