About 10 years ago Car & Driver published a great article on engine cylinder design. Automotive engineers discovered that the most efficient cylinder size is the half-liter (500cc) with slightly under-square bore/stoke ratio. This cylinder size and dimensions (approx. 80MM bore and 90MM stroke) provides for the most efficient burn of the fuel air ratio producing the highest power and lowest emissions.

So, it's not a coincidence the B58 and the Hurricane share near identical bore/stroke/compression ratio specs. It's why the industry is awash in 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engines; everybody's got one.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
