EGR valve cleaning?

F48. 2.0D XDRIVE 2016. UK.

I've started getting a fault message, accompanied by what feels like a limp mode. Error is 'Drivetrain: Possible to continue journey: Full performance not available'

I've Google it and think it may be related to an EGR valve issue. I thought I'd remove it and see if it's clogged up, and if so give it a thorough clean and see if the fault goes away.

Problem is, I'm not sure where the EGR valve is, and I can't find anything on line to help me. Any suggestions, and also any comments on the fault ?

Incidentally, the car was recalled last October for EGR cooler, but I'm not sure whether they changed it or not, and whether this fault could be related to it. But I'm reluctant to put it into a main dealer initially, as I know from experience they charge a fortune just to diagnose.
