Yes. Though greater mass equals more momentum at same velocity; heavier cars are at an advantage in a collision with lighter ones.

I expect therefore the advantage of one feature (more crumple) is counteracted by the other (lighter) and vice versa. Unless of course it's a solid object in which case lighter would be easier to stop and momentum would be a disadvantage!
