My X1 has been having issues with the pump that actuates the haldex so I ordered in the part but installing it appears to be the easy part. Has anyone tried to tackle the programming end of it? I understand you need a few pieces of equipment like a charger, ENET(?) cable and so on but I am really mostly concerned about using ISTA+ (also if anyone had a link to it that would be greatly appreciated).
Thanks

Speedometer Reading Error After Winter Storage - 2017 BMW X1 F48

Hi everyone,

I’m a technician, and I’m dealing with a persistent speedometer issue on my 2017 X1 F48 xDrive. After storing the car all winter, I disconnected the battery, which died, and in the spring, I recharged it and performed a battery reset. Since then, the speedometer readings have been off.

I pulled codes from the ABS module: the main fault is 03058D, described as "Signal Processing, Speed Center of Gravity, Sporadic Fault." I also had a previous code (CD944D), now cleared, which was "Signal, Actual Wheel Speed, 46.0.1, Invalid Transmitter, DSC." I physically inspected all the ABS sensors and wiring—no visible damage as well as tried to blow some air down into the holes to clean any potential debris on the reluctor rings. During a test drive, all sensors showed steady readings, except that the instrument cluster wheel speed data is extremely erratic... I'll be doing 10km/h and it says I'm going 80 km/h. In regards to the actual speedometer, it read about 40 km/h while I’m actually traveling around 70 km/h so it's alwasy about 30-40 Km off. To add to this it can sometimes read in the other direction, I'll be going 60 Km/h and it will read I'm going 100 Km/h.

I’ve tried a cluster reset, battery reset, ABS physical sensor inspection as well as pickups, code clearing, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this kind of discrepancy or have any suggestions? Is this a known module issue, or do you think it’s a coding or calibration problem? I'm a new BMW owner so I'm not sure if it needs updates or anything like that especially after being dead for the winter. Figured I'd reach out on here since nothing comes up on Identifix or Prodemand in terms of Diag.

Thanks so much for your help!

Chris

Has anyone experienced bad turbos at this little milage? I belive the culprit could be JB4 as i do use one of them.

I have been experiencing smoke after idling for a while 30+ seconds and after taking of i shoot a huge ammount of smoke out the exhaust (blueish). I was camping this weekend and was thrown in limp mode pulling into a parking spot and got the codes attached. The drivetrain malfunction did go away after restarting the car. The smoke was exceptionally bad in the campsite and i have never got the drivetrain malfunction before.

i am either gonna sell the car :( or i guess fix it but its gonna be a boat load of money. I feel 130k km is pretty early for a blown turbo (it still builds boost just is smoky) previous owner got in some accidents so that could contribute i assume.

Any one have any insight or experiences they could share? I did the valve cover 6 months ago hoping it was a pvc problem but nope. I think this car is cursed as it breaks every 1000km for the last 25k i’ve owned it.

Good Evening Bimmers,

I am intending to service the auxiliary belt for my wife's X1 currently at 91k miles.

It all started with the harmonic damper making a non-harmonious sound a couple of weeks ago.

My current mission is to replace the damper and service the belt and its components while I am in there.

I am currently waiting for the following OE parts to arrive:
1. Continental Belt
2. Deflection Pulley
3. Belt Tensioner with new bolts
4. Harmonic Damper with new bolts

I have been researching the procedure and would appreciate advise on the following items for which I have not been able to find clear answers:
1. holding the damper in place to loose the bolts
2. Torque specs for the damper bolts
3. Any previous procedure used would be nice for reference as well

Any help is appreciated!!

Chattering and sticking and shuddering all the time. I contacted Bosch for replacement and they pulled some bullshit on me that they were purchased more than 30 days ago (it was like 32 days when I contacted them; I didn't install them immediately after buying them). What sheer and utter garbage. Trash product and shitty company that doesn't stand behind their products. In the trash they go - brand new. Hopefully the Tricos I am replacing them with are better.

Hi everyone, I recently did the following services for my X1 (roughly 77k miles):
- right engine mount replacement
- left transmission mount replacement
- spark plugs + ignition coils
- MAF sensor cleaning

Since the repairs, I’ve noticed a popping sound that wasn’t there before near the front passenger side. It feels like it's near the floor of the car. :mad0259:

The noise only happens during slow/medium-speed left turns (worsens as the steering angle increases) and continues briefly as the car straightens out. I can also reproduce it while driving straight by accelerating, then letting off the throttle. No noise on right turns or while idling/stationary.

When replacing the passenger engine mount, I had trouble aligning the engine and had to raise/lower it several times. Could the engine or mounts be misaligned or sitting too high/low? Could the CV axle be damaged during the repair or rubbing against the engine? What’s the best way to verify alignment or diagnose the source of the popping? I heard about possibly "neutralizing" the engine mounts. Thank you guys for your help.

Car: X1 2019 20d xDrive

Problem:

Got a 2019 X1 last week. Everything was working. Pressure washed the car, still, everything was working.

A day later, I was adjusting the wing mirror, suddently the entire window master switch stopped working. Complete dead. Passenger side switch is working, but back windows switches are not working.

Scanned for code, got this: D90D07

Well, LIN error.

- Tried disconnecting the heated mirror. No luck.
- Tried disconnecting the mirror connector at the driver door top corner. No luck.
- Checked the only 7.5A fuse, that's not blown.

Next thing I'll try is getting another similar master switch from scrapyard.

But apart from this, is there anything else I can try? Any help/suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I know about the F48 known issue with the passenger heater.

I printed this set https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool...ter-repair-kit but when I disassembled the area and tried to rotate the flap manually it seems alright to me - it stops at two positions, one position blows cold-ish, other one is hot. So I stopped applying the printed kit.

What seemed strange to me is that the actuator did nothing when I regulate the temperature - I would expect it to actually move trying to change the flap position.

So I ordered brand new second hand one from Ebay but seems to be the same. When I connected it for the first time it rotated to one and the other side but then it does not seem to do anything.

Claude told me it could need to be somehow connected to the car LIN BUS via ISTA+ or INPA.

Does anyone have any experience with this, please?
