Hi Matt,
Have you have resolved the issue? My 220d (same gearbox) is having the same issue (since December) and still not sorted out yet. We got an extra code 4200B4 Solenoid valve SPH shut as defective. Was thinking to replace the mechatronics, but puzzled seeing your results. Mathew |

Hi,
we've got nowhere I'm afraid, sent the Mechatronics unit away (the original) with harness to a specialist to be tested and found to be all ok had this with other manufacturers before with gearbox transmission error and never actually the gearbox... something electronic.. its just finding it! these Gearbox usually fail with bad gear changes and judders... not actually stop altogether we understand.. have you had any luck? sorry for late response, its sat outside the workshop waiting for some more spare time or new knowledge |

Hi Matt, not sure I messaged you. Mine got fixed by gearbox specialist based in London. The fault was the oil pump chain and drive spoke broken. They said this is due to the engine swap done a month or so, which put pressure in the drive resulted this. Also said that some of the parts need upgraded to gen 2 gearbox as the gearbox will packup sooner due that bad design. I am still waiting to arrange collection of the car. If you need the details, I shall pass his contact.
Thanks Mathew |
