Android Head unit 12.3 inch
Hi, asking this question as I’ve run out of ideas what made this. The right side toggle menu covered half of the screen even when it’s minimized.
When I ticked the option for ‘disabled full screen on car menu it’s became worse’. |

You need to give more information.
How did it happen? Was is showing full screen before ? Did you change any settings on Android screen settings or idrive settings? So that others can think of the possible causes. I will suggest doing the followings. Performing factory reset on the android screen. In the factory settings. You can change the screen resolution one after another to see if it comes back to full screen. Another thing is you can use Bimmercode in expert mode HU NBT 3005 display_pip_config Change CID_Display_res Change CID_Display_size You will have to change one at a time and see if the display comes back to normal. When using Bimmercode try to choose your android screen resolution and 10.5 for the display size. You won't find 12.3 inch in display size. Those are the things I will check first. Good luck. |

Hi, thanks for replying. As per referred I went to the android thread and followed the discord channel to find some answers.
Basically if I was having a ksw system it would be much easier for the android factory settings to choose screen size, resolution, extended screen etc. But mine came from different seller and software version where they had a default right side toggle menu with 3 icons (Navi, car, music) which are useless to me. I assumed that the right toggle menu is a default app that will take up the extended screen and can’t be switched off. I’ve tried all the settings starting with coding the HU with 6.5, 8, 10 inch. After that with android factory settings. The automatic setting worked easier so I won’t have some funny zoomed images. I’ve attached the software version and I’ll think I’ll put up the seller link for info as well. the HU link I’ve ticked the split screen checkbox for now so the menu list will keep to the left. |

Lucky to have the BU pops up its own window so I searched the display resolution and variante. Literally just changed 2 coding and back to e-sys click on the code ncd, tada! It worked just like that. My previous anxiety and misery were all for nothing haha. But I still need to find out how to view all the dots in e-sys |

What screen did you buy/install? I’ve been looking to do this to my X1, but many of the larger screens come with their own UI. I’m hoping to keep the iDrive (like yours seems to), but add CarPlay and a touchscreen…
Any recommendations? Thank you! |

Mine was okay-ish in my opinion, the seller was responsive but they are not bmw experts. The firmware, UI are all from third party engineer I think. Don’t buy mine, I’m still not pleased they advertised different firmware and so called “ID8” tacho screen but I get rubbish screen instead. You might have heard of KSW firmware those are reliable and lots of experts in the community if you need help. Another one I saw is Hifimax from Paul he’s active on YouTube you can do a search. Recently he launched a new model which got thinner bezel and lighter! How I wish id buy that instead. You can contact Paul by any means. He replied my questions even though I buy nothing from him. Good guy! |
