They don't want retro. They don't want future. They want BMW to freeze things the way they are. So the BMW they bought won't ever get old.

Looks like BMW's twitter might be teasing the X2. Press days are Thu & Fri for the Paris auto show.

Latest rendering by Julien Jordy for Auto-Moto:
It's basically the X1 front, smaller boot, thicker C-pillar and no quarter window. About the same size as Mini Countryman. The C-pillar has always been one of the key design features of BMW X range. Without the quarter window, the X2 will look like a chubby 1 Series rather than a "sporty" X1. I don't belong to their target market I guess. |

Supposed to be an homage to the M1 I think. Doubt it'll make it to the production model.
I'd love to see those X1 style headlights carried over to the next X3 and X5. Not a fan of the current headlights at all and hate the way they View post on imgur.com !! We know the 5 Series front end will be similar to the 7 Series. But I'm still hopeful the upcoming X3 will have a front end similar to the X1.3D sculpted i3/i8 style tail lights also look great. Can see them becoming a big BMW design cue in non-i models. Last edited by KPD; 09-29-2016 at 07:48 AM.. |

The twin emblems on the M1 looked crap back in the 80s, at least when I got to see one race at Brands Hatch they weren't visible.
RIP Raymond. TBH, I don't seem to like any BMW concept vehicle. The French are much better IMHO. |

That upside down grilles look sad!
I hope they don't go into production. Maybe someone can make a quick edit on one of the latest pics or renders and put the grilles as usual? Narrower at the bottom and wider at the top.... it will instantly look a lot better... Now that after 7 years BMW has finally fixed the hood line and brought it to the grilles.... let's hope we don't get into another 'dark age' this time with upside-down grilles.... Thanks. |
