Wiring OEM Reverse Camera Help - F48
Hi,
I manage to route the harness from the back boot to the front of the HU I have a bunch of cables to finally connect but unsure where the yellow wires and green/red wires go. From the packet, where the harness came in, there is a rough guide as per pic below where to connect the wires as i shown in below diagram. but it doesnt say which pins the yellow wires connect to. or where the Green/Red wires connect to. Pics below of my harness, and the wires i hae to connect. Appreciate your help X1 2017 F48 |

Appreciate your respose.. crikey, didnt realise.,.. on the off chance, on the packet it came with... i just realised that the Yellow is written across two lines and for the F48 it states it should be connected to BDCBODY 8B no 44\43. To my knowledge while searching the net, the BDCBODY is located under the glove box which i found... and the pics below shows various connections.. and im assuming where it says "8B" which is the CAN block 8 and if i look closely, the black connection is block 8... Am i right or im talking jiberrish? or is your diagram the correct way connecting the twisted pair.... also the GREEN\RED wire needs Power ACC 5A, where should this go? Thanks and appreciate your help... |

Not sure if I’m on the right track but after opening the wiring loom and looking for pins 43 and 44, they are already occupied. So I don’t know where it says on the pack BDCBODY 8B stands CAN8 ? Or shall I ignore the packet and follow the diagram posted by 678hug ? Thanks for help so far. |

To my theory… I also found OEM Camera install doc for F48… https://mega.nz/file/9ggnDZJI#wVY2q-...TnR7IpWP4CbK88 Also references the twisted pair to connect to BDC Now do I remove the existing wires or shall I tap into the wires? Last edited by NemoNeil; 10-09-2023 at 04:27 AM.. |

Looks like these wires are already in place. You can double check using wire diagram on chapter 6 (page 12). Check both ends, on the BDC-side and the R3 bus-side then you know for sure. Chapter 4 (page 8) is only applicable if you don't have bus R3 installed already, AFAIK most cars have both R2 and R3 installed from factory. Have yet to come across an car without it. Using the wire diagram you can double check all wire connections and you can even scrible on it if you print it out. For example the colors |

So i take this as it doesnt go to the BDC or at that connection... I assume it needs to go to the R2 or the R3 interface in the boot. But where is this and which one? any help Thanks |

Yeah can be driverside if RHD, I have LHD vehicle and there it is passenger side :P
As you found it, you can just check with colors. White or Blue and Green on pin 9/22 (or 12/23 if vehicle produced after the date in the diagram). As you have Blue & Green on pin 43 & 44 on BDC side you will most probably have the wires already installed, this way you can verify which R2 is which R3 is, R9 should have those wires on pin 9/22 (or 12/23 if vehilce produced after the date in the diagram) |

What is important is that you follow the total scheme. So you have 2 CANBUS wires from BDC to R3 (this one is probably wired from factory (green & Blue) BDC pin 43 & 44 (note the order) R3 PIN 16 & 3 (note the order) From R3 you have 2 CANBUS Wires to Camera (c* or a24, depending on which diagram) R3 pin 22 & 9 (note the order) C* pin 7 & 8 (note the order) From Camera to headunit you have C* pin 1,2 & 5 (note the order) A42 (HU) pin 21, 24 & 23 (note the order) From C* to PDC/PMA unit C* pin4 B41 (PDC) pin 9 Last edited by mrpingu; 10-09-2023 at 03:04 PM.. |

Yes add the canbus wires (yellow and white to 9 & 22)
Well it seems that PMA & Reversing camera are on same powerline/fuse. So you just have tap into that wire somewhere. Retrofit is instructions say to PMA, TIS diagram saus right to fuse but now you know these are shared power lines. |

I coded/activated icam_rvc using esys as per screenshot below. HU_entrynav > camera_system >> ICAM (RVC). I don't see a change in the screen just the same parking distance car in the middle. Anything else I need to code. ? Thanks |

Yes, when I calculate on my SVT I get the following changes
PMA2 module rvc -> aktiv (01) Ueberwachung_st_qu_rv -> aktiv (01) HU_entrynav2 CAM_ECU -> wert_11 (0B) MACRO_RV_C -> aktiv (01) CAMERA_SYSTEM -> icam_rvc (02) Why don’t you VO-code the car and modules? Add 3AG to FA/VO and code PMA & Headunit |
