M35i steering stiffness

I’ve owned my 2020 M35i for two weeks now and I noticed the steering is really stiff. I had a series 1 125i M spec before this and when I switched to sport mode the steering stiffness increased. The M35i feels like that all the time, is there a way to reduce it? Maybe through bimmerocde

I don't know the coding but I would say you can definitely change it since it is an electronic steering box. I could code this since my E60 car.. but I haven't seen anyone bother looking into the correct settings here for this. I myself don't think the steering is specifically stiff on the m35i though.

Which tires and wheels do you have? When I went to 19" RFT from 17" Winter tires earlier this year, this was really noticable.

I have the 19" rft right now. My winter tires are either 18 or 19 regular tires which this year I ran the rest of my 18" tires out. I also run 245 width which maybe make the turning a little bit harder alone . Still I don't think it's really that different/too stiff.

When I switch from 18" winters to 19" summers, I notice the steering becomes noticeably heavier. Though not quite the difference between Comfort and Sport modes.

This might get you into trouble.. and I have definitely not looked into this, but this is what I did on my E60:

To solve the super stiff steering wheel I went with the KGM module:

GESCHWIN_WERTE_SPORT_KGM
default is wert_01 you can go all the way up to 9 as stock.. I put it as 3 and it's good. Editing the file and adding lines ie:

Wert_02
wert_05
wert_06

changes upon speed.

Also need to modify:

STROMWERTE_SPORT_KGM

with the same wert values.

There is no KGM on F39 i think but EPS, atleast on F48.

But there are these values in EPS

C_CEL_TUNING_BASE
C_CEL_TUNING_SPORT
C_CEL_TUNING_SVT

There are LIGHT and HEAVY values, but they have a F, L and MPA_L and PHEV_F. Salong as you stay within the same letter it will be fine, Maybe also outside that and/or even values meant for other car. But to start experimenting I would start within the the same model designation

Not sure What SVT refers to but sport easy to guess
