Restricted drivetrain

Hi all,

I have a X1 1.8i AT production July 2017. So i have the new electronic gear shifter instead of the mechanical one.

Every now and then i get a drivetrain malfunction, it gets stuck in 2nd gear and wont shift up. Not even not when i put it in manual, it hops back to D by itself.

Dealer says the gearbox has to be updated, got an appointment tomorrow.

Hoping its an easy fix

Wow. That's a little nerve racking for this to happen to a car that is only a few months old. I'm starting to doubt the reliability of the new dct transmissions.

We had this with my wifes previous A Class DCT, not a direct comparison but a software update sorted it...

I hope the update will do the trick. Yesterday it happend 6 times, the car wouldnt shift to 3rd so 40km/h with 4500 rpm

Most of the times stopping the engine, lock the car, unlock it and start again does the trick. But not yesterday....
