The BMW X2 begins to take its form...

Here is a very good rendering of the BMW X2 Sport Activity Coupe.

As you can see it is based on the latest X1 so at least there is a visual consistency as per the X1 and the other BMW X Sport Activity Coupe's the X4 and X6 per some minor design adjustments to make it all flow this is very much what to expect.

In other words X2 will be following its siblings by sharing the same architectures by adding a Sporty and Dynamic Coupe outline but being engineered with a little character adjustment in its driving ability dynamics combined with xDrive again another new niche for BMW in the Compact segment.

Since the car is based on the incoming new X1.
Engines will be shared between X1 and X2 including petrol, diesel and eDrive plug in hybrid which will be shown in an X1 Concept 23e as well as the production Active Tourer 223e. Both X1 and X2 will be introduced with over 300PS M Performance models with xDrive only.
The interior again like X4 and X6 will be carried over from the standard X1.

Again like its siblings X4 and X6 the X2 will only offer a more practical favoured 5dr in regards to market requirements.
We will see the X2 as a concept in 2016 before a production model is introduced in early 2017. BMWs year of the SAV with an all new BMW X3, X5 LCi And the first look at the new BMW X7.

The X2 render is surprisingly good given proportions of the car.

The next car to get the latest iDrive will be the next BMW 5er.

The next X3 is due in 2017 with the X4 in 2018, these are both after the next 5er so yes it will be available on every G model including the next X3, X4 ,5er Gran Turismo and 6er.

Looks good, can't wait to see pics of the m sport equipped model.

Also, am I the only one who'd like to see this in a performance model with some interesting colors like AY or YMB. Something like a baby X6 M??

That render doesn't look bad. I still don't think I would buy one though.

Seriously? So now you have another 4GC/3Gt/X2?! The fuck? BMW has become a laughing stock. They're far worse than MB was during their "one model for every type of household" mantra. This doesn't even begin to make sense.

The render is good though, but are these cars selling to justify their existence?
I don't know but I never liked any GT model, but I like the X6 though...

Hey Scott is it possible they put the latest iDrive in the LCI for the i8?

Tell your boss that if they can finally crack the eps and improve weight distribution on the next x3 I might consider selling my Macan and going back to an x3. Otherwise its an E46 csl to join the rest of the stable
