Which will look awesome next to it’s sister, the 2 series active minivan.
M performance wood on the side (instead of carbon fiber) to be released soon.

this just makes me look forward to the G20 all the more!! Because BMW actually DO still make proper BMWs, it’s just that this isn’t one of them!!
(I’m still waiting to see a positive comment on this one) |

He probably will. Which might not register at all on the balance sheet, but should matter on a more philosophical level. I’m not sure they care on that front.

lol BMW sells perfectly fine. The only ones whining are ppl online which matters extremely little.
So yes. Keep whining, it isn't going to change. The world is changing, if you want something to bitch about, go at the government because they are the ones pushing the economy shit on the car makers. No car maker is stupid enough to fall behind because a few whiners online are complaining. Know your math.

Bmw = fwd bias = Mini. The x2 will sell for sure but probably not too many to enthusiasts. The x3 m40i is a beauty and would love to have one as a daily; look nice next to a f80.

It’s a new world buddy. Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and soon Ferrari had to build freakin SUVs to survive. Things change, and you either change with it or disappear. Sheesh, are you guys even adults here?

While some of the brands you mentioned such as Porsche were "saved" by introducing an SUV the others were not saved nor require saving. Ferrari is in fine shape for example. Simply these companies are looking for more revenue and faster growth and realize serving a particular market segment with particular products is the way to achieve this. All of this said, whatever the motivation of these companies they can serve these mass consumer segments without diluting their core brand and competencies or alienating their enthusiast base. Porsche does this perfectly. They build beautiful sports cars that are the right size, weight, and have the right transmissions while maintaining a large and dominant footprint in motor sports. Calling out BMW for failing miserably to achieve what Porsche has doesn't make us less "adult" my friend. |
