Wow, I appreciate the amount of effort that took to do and document. Kudos!

Did you have to code anything to get that working properly?

Nice work Pedro. First time I have seen someone fix a tweeter in the front centre position. Appreciate all the pics.

My local dealer wanted $68 for it, I'm in Atlanta.
The cheapest I found so far is from:

https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...358/ES2568946/

$57.08

Cool that you did the center speaker tweeter! I wonder what that will sound like. Nice pics too, thank you.

I'm definitely considering this mod when the new X1 arrives in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the photos!! I've only got the basic sound system option; does this even have a centre speaker? Or is that reserved for the "BMW Advanced" and/or Harman Kardon system only?

I'm looking forward to breaking out my trim removal tools

Sorry but the basic option doesn't have the center speaker. You need to have the 676 hifi option, which is the intermediate choice. But you can install the door's tweeters! Go ahead

Hi Pedro, are there 4 screws fixing the door trim panel to the door? 2 behind the door handle and 2 at the trim panel bottom?

If your car doesnīt have the center speaker grill, it means that the center speaker itīs not pre installed.

Ordered the HK tweeters but I didn't want to splice the wires so I ordered the HK midrange speakers to make it a completely plug-and-play experience. HK speakers go in place of the stock speakers but have two connectors.

Comparing stock and HK midranges the latter are tad heavier, have a bigger magnet and it shows as I noticed fuller sound with a bit more at the lower end (Bass is set at 0).
The tweeters bring the sound stage to the shoulder level. IMO the update was worth it.

List of parts in case anyone is interested:
51337435817 HK trim left (came with the HK tweeter)
51337435818 HK trim right (came with the HK tweeter)
65139368383 Center speaker HK X1
65139226358 Tweeter center HK X1
65139364956 Mid range HK speakers X1 - 4x

Thanks for the info, I'm just thinking of installing the front dash centre speaker grill 51459292135 and the two bass and treble speakers to improve the high levels, are the wiring cables in place if so what are the colour codes please?

I would suggest before ordering the part to see if there's any wiring under there.

If your car comes with the stock system, It means that the source is built with an internal amplifier and there aren't any of the centre speakers. Hifi (advanced speaker system) and Harman Kardon systems come with an external amplifier placed in the trunk of the car, so the wiring is totally different

Hey, I have upgraded with the HK tweeters and HK front speakers plus the center speaker, but I have a hissing noise in the tweeters and I don't understand why. I can hear it only if I'm close enough to the tweeter.
The noise is present with the Idrive on mute and with it on volume and it is there no-matter the source of sound.
I have a Hi-FI OEM system so I have the non-HK amplifier.
Does any of you encountered this problem with the hissing noise?
Sorry for my spelling errors, but I hope I made my self clear.
Thanks in advance for your interest.

Works with 'stock' HiFi amplifier?

Edit: NVM, Sourced an cheap HK amplifier from the scrapyard, HK center speakers & HK Center Tweeter.

Looking forward to install these, still trying to source the front door parts, got midtone speakers but not yet tweeters / trim.

Have you guys bothered with the rear doors? I think of skipping these. Both in labour (myself) & costs
