2016 X1 (F48) front end and headlights exposed
BIMMERPOST NEWS 2016 X1 (F48) front end and headlights exposed The X1 has been slowly dropping its camouflage over the last year and it may finally have lost all its front end covering in this purported image of a production X1. Seen here is half of the front fascia, giving us an unobstructed look at the final bumper and headlight design. An interior photo was posted along with the exterior pic, matching the X1 interior we've previously shared with you, and providing further credibility to the exterior photo being that of the upcoming new X1. Our previous spy photos of the F48 X1 exterior and interior. The F48 X1 rides on BMW's UKL platform and should be offered in both FWD and AWD models while engine offerings will range from 3 to 4 cylinders. Our recent info has shown that the US will receive at least an sDrive25i and xDrive25i, with production beginning in July 2015 for the xDrive and November 2015 for the sDrive model, subject to change. There will also be a long wheelbase version X1 (F49) offered, perhaps for the Chinese market only. Image source: Autohome |

What's with the analog meter in that test mule? Testing a hybrid-electric drivetrain?

looks promising, hopefully the kidneys have a good shape to them and dont resemble the pre facelift e46. also, those tire rack specials for rims need to go asap..
I like the headlights and this gives us a good idea as to the direction of the 1er sedan. Interested to see the msport x1. could be a great vehicle to have as my next car instead of the 1er sedan.

Definitely a lot better than the current one by 10 miles. I really didn't like that design they had for it. I'm convinced it didn't sell as much in the USA because of it. Now if only the price was right...

Love those Mojave Desert shots of the camouflage cars amazing how often over the years I have run across those vehicles while traveling in the CA desert, and your trying to figure either what they are or the changes that are new.

Here are links to some more renderings from Auto Bild:
http://www.autobild.de/videos/... http://www.autobild.de/bilder/... bmwblog.com posted another image from Auto Bild yesterday, but it doesn't seem as accurate as the images I linked to, or other photos that have been posted, like the one above, which show the headlights and grills separated, not connected. I really hope these renderings are accurate, I think it looks just great. The BMWblog post states the new X1 will be revealed in spring 2015. This seems consistent with other info that the current X1 ends production in June '15 and the new X1 begins production in July '15. I really hope this is correct because I'd like to do a European Delivery of a new X1 in September after my current lease expires. |
