If it is 5 years or older I would start there.
Most, if not all batteries have a production date printed somewhere.
You could check that.

Judging from the cluster you have a 2016 or 2017 model, maybe early 2018 so if it never have been replaced, good chance it’s the battery.

I reckon it is the original battery.

If it is the battery though shouldnt I get a warning message about battery running low?
My old E92 did that and I simply replaced it when it was time.

I had the same array of different errors when my battery got old, and no battery errors

So I would start with changing the battery

Hi guys, I replaced the battery a week ago and this morning all the errors returned.
Any other ideas? Could it be the alternator even though we checked the voltage with engine off ober 12V and with engine on over 14V.
I am kinda lost here now.
Please advise

Did you already used an BMW specific OBD errorcode reader?
Still sounds like electrical issue to me.

Without more specific diagnostics it is really hard and I understand that you are of ideas. Therefor it is important to search for other symptoms or errors that might not show on the dashboard

Best is to have ISTA for diagnostics but something like vGate iCar Pro in combination with CarScanner app for iOS https://apps.apple.com/no/app/car-scanner-elm-obd2/id1259933623?l=nb is more easy and gives possibility to read out lots of cars.

Ista would be my first choice for diagnostics. I will probably call some indys whether they have ISTA if noone on any forums helps.

Just had a similar issue on our 2019 X1. Dealer performed test and found a fault stored for the TCB (The Telematic Communication Box) battery. Replaced the TCB battery, cleared all the faults (we had random faults appear on dash) and verified no more faults on dash. Was informed that when this battery fails it draws power from car main battery to maintain limited function but still causes random error messages to appear.

Hope this helps!

May I ask you if this has solved the problem. I replaced the battery and it comes up here and there. There is a week when there is no christmas tree lit up on my cluster only then for it to appear.
Do you how to access the battery? What sort of battery it is? I am quite ha dy with diy.
Thanks

guys, any ideas how to get to the sos battery?

I did run ista diagnostics and saw no error on the sos battery but still suspect it is causing my occasional array of errors.

Hi guys, thought I will give here an update.
After no luck with various tests and Ista diagnostics, it turns out it was all about a USB key plugged in under the armrest.
Removed it and never seen any sort off error.
While I am veru glad this is over I need to find an alternative solution to play music stored on a drive.
Maybe there is a USB drive that doesn't drag any voltage whike plugged in and engine off?
Alternatively I can play music via bluetooth but that is not my preferred option as it will drain the phone battery very fast.
Shame that on a such car as the F48 BMW cut the corner by not giving a internal drive.
My old 60 plate E92 had one..

Thanks mate. I got kind of lost in solving the problem and then I thought lets try this.
It worked!
I googled it afterwards and found out if you leave usb plugged in while engine is off, it will drain the battery. It is minimal but over long period of time it can cause these problems.
Hope this thread helps someone tons of time and hassle.
