Intermittent No heat

Another x1 with hearing issues, my 2018 x1 petrol sometimes has no heat even on a long journey but with it been intermittent I don’t want to take it into the garage, is there a cheap obd reader that works on the BMW so I can check for codes
The coolant drops from max to just below min every couple of months with no sign of a leak
Thanks

any code reader works. there is nothing special on a bmw compared to a nissan when it comes to reading codes.

best thing to do is get an enet cable for $15 off amazon and find a copy of ISTA.
