Oil pan gasket
Sharing...
I got my car in today for an oil change at the dealer. I have an 2019 at 35K km (~21K miles). When I got my car back, the advisor told me that the oil pan starts to be a bit greasy. It's a sign that the gasket should be replaced. It's not urgent he said, it can wait until the next maintenance. As it's under warranty, I took an appointment to do it in 2 weeks. It's an 7-8 hours work apparently, I'll have leave the car for the day and take a loaner. |

Frankly, it's not that I don't trust the advisor, but they way he told me is nonchalant. It doesn't look to be a big deal.
Also, the mechanic was supposed to write it on the invoice report, but he forgot to do it, the advisor said. I am just wondering if it's a way for the dealership to make some money over warranty works. I did some search after, some people said that even if there is a tiny leak, it doesn't mean that the gasket needs to be replaced. |

Its your car and your decision. Good choice.

If no stains, at least consider waiting until shortly before the warranty expires. |
