Hi, i’m new here and im looking around for my X1 carplay option. I have X1 F48 2017 VIN 3D29140 with old no touchscreen unit and no navi.
Car is from Germany market but i’m using it in Croatia.
What are my options? What do i need to check?

2017 would have old ENTRYNAV Head Unit, which is incapable of CarPlay. Need new ENTRYNAV2 or Aftermarket HMI Box.

You can also fit NBT EVO although Entrynav2 could be patched now so this might be your cheapest option.

It can be retrofitted, although I would retrofit NBT2 before ENTRYNAV2. Search eBay.

No. There is no such thing as Wired CarPlay with BMW Head Unit. You need new Head Unit of Aftermarket HMI box.

I have a F48 with the following characteristics. However not sure how to interpret them and whether I need an aftermarket HMI box or if I can have CarPlay installed with a code:
- "Way" map version (ENTRYNAV2)
- 6.6" screen size
- EVO ID6 user interface
- 6UN option in the order form

Hi guys!

Status update here.
I talked to shawnsheridan 's contact about activating CarPlay.
The dude is very fair, everything went great until it didn't.
Based on the VIN data, my car has WiFi Hotspot, CarPlay is possible.
Paid my fee, guy connected, and after a few minutes, he wrote me that the car doesn't have a WLAN Port.
Hotspot yes, Port no. He also said that my car was the first that he saw with this weird config.
He couldn't finish the activation unfortunately.

Back to the fair part: he then _immediately_ refunded my the total paid amount.

On one hand: It's great to experience this fair- and helpfulness from total strangers.
On the other hand: I'm still without CarPlay.

If anyone has an idea about me getting it somehow, pretty please, tell me.

Good to see he refunded you.

No WLAN Port means no CarPlay. Need to Retrofit a Head Unit with WLAN Port or use an Aftermarket HMI Box.

Hi, I have EntryNAV HU, with 6UP 8.8" display. It is enough to buy EntryNAV2 the deck only and leave the "old" EntryNAV display and iDrive knob? Do I have to know VIN from EntryNAV2 device before buying or it is not necessary for coding?
