Strange experience with the adaptive cruise control.

I was out driving yesterday with the adaptive cruise control set on 60 km/h. As I approach a 80 km/h sone I adjusted the cruise control to 80 km/h.

After a few seconds I felt that the car was going way to fast. I take a look at the headup display and it says that I am going at 80 km/h. I then look at the manual speedometer that also reads 80. As I am approaching the car in front of me fast I touch the break. When I do this both the headup display and the manual speedometer suddenly shows 113 km/h

Have anyone else had a similar experience?

Kind of scary that both the headup and Manuel speedometer shows a different speed than the speed i am actually going in.

Use my adaptive cruise control all the time and haven't had that happen
Sounds like a glitch in yours that needs to be looked at.

I use mine all the time and have never experienced what you have described. The only issues I ever have is if I am driving into the sun or some vehicles pulling a trailer sometimes disables the system. Mostly, it has worked very well and is one of my favorite features on long trips.

Like bmtespar I love my Adaptive Cruise Control but have not noticed a problem as described. I had to go from Southampton to Newcastle for a funeral last week (about 330 miles each way) and got very good use out of it - very relaxing for a long drive - especially through 50 mph average speed roadworks. Normally when I do this journey I am very tired at the end - this time I could have carried on for a lot longer (AND I have standard seats )
