Congrats. So jealous that M steering wheel isn't available with xLine here in the UK. Standard steering wheel looks great. But feels a little thin for my liking.
Not sure if you've seen matt oak trim upclose or not. But it looks absolutely fantastic. It's a must have. |

Nice spec. We are considering a 2.5d X line too. Normally I would always go M Sport, but the X1 looks so much better in X line trim.
I am on an extended test drive at the moment with a 1.8d s drive version...

Same here. I might've gone with M Sport if they hadn't ruined it with the rear bumper but I prefer the more rugged look of the X Line anyway. Can't wait for mines.

It has arrived !!! BAM! Already drove 3000km with it. It's a surprisingly amazing driving experience. I'm very very happy with it. the 2.5d engine combined with sport automatic is powerful enough to have a dynamic driving experience and the suspension (so happy i took the electronic damper control) feels amazing. I love the variable sport steering, the harman kardon sound system sounds amazing, 1000x better than the harman kardon system in my old audi A4 from 2008. The interior lighting, the Fineline Matt Oak interior design looks perfect. The M steering wheel, the sport seats, the LED headlights, etc. WAW! BMW did an amazing job with this car. I took a long list of options and i am super happy i went for it. This car exceeds my expectations.
Math. Greetings from Belgium |

Small remarks and thoughts after almost 4000km of driving it now:
(don't shoot me if i'm not always using perfect english vocabulary, english is not my native language ) BMW X1 xDrive25d - 170 kW [231 Pk] : The engine is powerful enough to have a dynamic driving experience. Since i'm ECU tuning all my vehicles, this one is also going to have a remap. This would get the car to 261hp with 495Nm torque which is considered to be a safe remap. Sport automatic transmission : i can't really compare this one with the normal automatic transmission since i've only driven my own X1 but i must say it's a bliss. Mostly i'm driving in fully automatic, comfort or sport (eco pro i only use on long highway roads) Paddle shifting at evenings or places when there is not much traffic and i feel like playing around, enjoying a full driving experience. I really enjoy the gearbox, it's superfast, feels pleasant and in sport mode the accelerator is very responsive. In comfort mode i could say the gearbox has to like think for a small millisecond when pushing the accelerator. Both modes are fine and perfectly different to suit your needs. Only downside: a electronic shifter like the X3 or X5 would have made it perfect, but i can't complain. It's still good enough. i was afraid of the looks after all the comments, but's it's fine Metallic WA96 Mineral white. : (I'm in LOVE with this paint, i love the shiny brilliance in it) rims, Y-spoke 511, 19", 8 J x 19, tires 225/45 R 19. Runflat tires (I love the wheels but i think 20" would have been perfect combined with wider rims, like 245 or 255 would have been better. I think when the tires have to be replaced i would go for 235 or 245 regarding what is possible to put on the current rims. Packs: Comfort Pack Plus Seating Pack ConnectedDrive Services Pack (i took all connected drive services expect internet) Black Dakota leather w/ perforation (seats look good but not as good as my combined leather/alcantara i had in mijn Audi A5 ) Fineline Matt Oak interior trim with Pearl Chrome finisher (This is EPIC, never saw a interior trim as good as this one, perfect 10/10) Sport seats, front (Sports seats are a no brainer, perfect with adjustable side flanks Elec Fr Seats + Driver Memory (it should be harder to save a setting since now it happened that i accidentaly pressed the wrong button in the dark and then i overwrite my current setting with my wifes one hate it when that happens Seat heating Front seat heating is very warm, i use the lowest setting, there are 3 levels. 3rd level is ass burning my wife loves it though. Model xLine (again the xLine was a nobrainer since this is the only line to me that really makes the new X1 stand out in all it's glory, again, this is just a personal taste. Headlining, Anthracite (ofc anthracite ... what else ) Armrest - front, centre Extended storage (The more storage the better so keep it coming BMW Floor mats, velour Ski bag Safety kit Sliding rear seat bench (PERFECT Lots of room for people on back seat and a bigger trunk is necessary ) Luggage compartment separating net (looks good on SUV ) Towbar, detachable (it's a SUV .... how can it be without Automatic Air Conditioning (works like it has to, i like the possibility to adjust the fan speed while still keeping it on auto, (was not possible in my Audi A5) Extended light package (very good, the lighting on the door handles, the way the inside lighting works, also resetting itself after closing the car, etc. i like it) Parts Line (i love the whole X-line deal) Roof rails, matt aluminium (perfectl match with the mineral white (personal taste)) Exterior trim - Satin aluminium (perfect match with the mineral white (again personal taste)) Rear-view mirror, auto dimming 10/10 Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming (perfect) Adaptive LED Headlights (i love these lights, they have a purple glary in it and i love it, very high class looking, hi-tech and perfect with the Hi-Beam assist) Navigationsystem Plus (best navi i had and with the traffic info very clear, shows slow, medium or heavy traffic on most roads (need connection services traffic option for this) Single-disc CD Player (my wife wanted this but i don't use it (i use spotify) OnBoard telecommunication (the other person on the line can hear i'm in the car, in my audi they couldn't so although it's still working good and clear, the Audi system is superior in my humble opinion. Enhanced Bluetooth telephone with USB & Voice Control (works as expected, the voice control is very good) Harman-Kardon sound system WAW! Sounds very good! Very happy i went for this music system upgrade. Smooth bass, clear treble, i just miss settings ... i mean seriously BMW ... no setting for midrange? no surround level setting? No seperate settings for radio and media? poor job on settings level. Head-Up Display (Can't miss it anymore !! Love it for navigation, good info! Turned the brightness to lowest setting, like this you don't see the disturbing lighted square screen around when driving on very dark roads. Concierge Services (3 years) (didn't test yet) Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) (3 years) (perfect (works like a charm like i mentioned above at navi system) ConnectedDrive Services (3 years) Remote Services (LOVE the BMW app and all the functions, surely also the one to send the navi destination already to the car before leaving) Panoramic glass sunroof (very nice i like the extra light in the car, compared to a fully closed dark car, couldn't test it open yet since it's just above zero °C here. Park Distance Control (PDC), front and rear (very good, too bad they don't offer the surround view option on the new X1) Reversing Assist camera (perfectly clear, wide view, just need to clean it (just go with your finger over it) daily when driving it bad weather conditions) Comfort access (must have to me! also the trunk opening (open trunk by placing your foot under the car) is SUPERB Bootlid operation, powered (YES must have on a SUV) Sun protection glass (i like tinted windows, view from inside is perfectly clear) Deactivation passenger airbag Park Assist (i have to test this more out, for some reason it's not always working, have to check why) Traffic Jam assistant (tried it like 3 times, works good, just one time the car didn't restart, still have to test it more out) Driving Assistant Plus (ooooow, with this one i"m very unsatisfied with the distances i can set. even the nearest distance is WAY TOO FAR, cars keep coming in between myself and the car in front of me because the car stays way too far away. i hope i can change this by coding because it's not usable for me this way. dissapointing Active Cruise Control with "Stop and Go" function (the stop and go is too enthousiast, when driving in high traffic the car stops the engine every 5meter when advancing and stopping, it's too much i turn it off every time. Should be less agressive. M steering wheel LOVE IT, It's thick which gives it a very good sport feeling, buttons on the right places, good looks, soft touch, very good Electronic Damper Control (EDC) This is a must have, PERFECT, it changes together with the driving modes, comfort gives the car a very pleasent soft feeling, sport mode makes it noticable harder. I LOVE it ! 10/10 Performance control Variable Sport Steering (very responsive steering and very noticable difference in feeling when driving slow or fast, contributes to the overal dynamic driving experience) codings to look into: I would like to change some things in coding, (dunno if it's possible though): rear lights always on alarm beep when (un)locking car (can't set this in EU in standard settings) Panorama roof inside black mesh not closing when holding close button when locking car (cause now i hold the key the fold the mirrors but everytime the black mesh also closes a bit, so after a few times it's already halfway closed. changing the distances in cruise control how far the car stays behind hi beam assist always on Last edited by Thieutje; 01-28-2016 at 10:02 AM.. |

I've since learned to use the fold button on the door instead. It's definitely not ideal. But it is slooowwwly becoming a habit. So it's not as annoying as it was in the first few weeks. |
