Ok, 2018 20D, build sheet says it has dvd region 2, dumb question but how do you get a dvd to play? Obviously stationary. I put in a dvd and nada, no option on audio input. Is there a way?

No response to my earlier query as to how if it is possible to play dvd in my 2018 F48 20D XDrive Xline which according to the build sheet has region 2 capability… has anyone got an answer or suggestion please

no, you can’t play a dvd to watch a movie. the HU unit can handle certain dvds for s/w & maps updates but that is all.

Do you have iDrive? If yes, then you should have an owners manual built into iDrive. It is VIN specific, so if you can play DVD (movies) it will tell you how.

Just curious, did you select theMODE button, or the MEDIA button around the iDrive controller knob? If not, try it and see if you have CD/DVD as a selection on the display. For media, you usually have a selection of:

• Radio
• CD/DVD
• Music Collection
• External devices

If you don’t have CD/DVD selected, it may be set for one of the other sources listed above.

There are multiple ways to do a search in the digital (iDrive) version of the owners manual. You can do a KEYWORD search, PICTURE search, there’s some embedded VIDEOS, etc.

The images below show the NBT version, it even if you have a newer version, there’s still an embedded owners manual that should help you quickly answer the question you asked.

To see if and/or how to play a DVD…simply do a keyword search for “DVD”. See examples below of doing a keyword search for various topics…you can see that the digital version of the owners manual will give you a list to select from and give details/info about the topic:
